Now that growing Cannabis is becoming more legal worldwide , more and more people wanting to invest in their first gardens. Budgets are low, excitement is high we've all been there. Here is my beginners guide to growing some decent cannabis indoors.

My goal is to build a purchase list of quality beginner products.

Before we start :

Measure out your grow area so we can find you the perfect sized Tent!

Here is my recommendations for a solid first time grow.

Products :

Tents  :

VIVOSUN Horticulture 48"x24"x60"  Low Profile

Mars Hydro 2'x4'x5' 11"

With the tent being 4 feet by 2 feet you have a total of 8 square feet.

VIVOSUN 36"x36"x72"

With the tent being 3 feet by 3 feet you have a total of 9 square feet.

We need to know the full square footage so we can purchase a light that will work.

Light :

Amazon : Mars Hydro Sp250

Alibaba : Meijiu qb288 or Meijiu 550 v2 (Link to Alibaba Supplier)

QB : ALTERNATIVES - @Xeen LED buyers guide.

We need to look into the specifications of the grow light to answer the question; Why this light?

The Actual wattage of a grow light is what you are looking for! If you can find a Quality light where you are paying less then a dollar/watt that is great! Its never good to over size your LED light for the space you have available. Try and stick to the Watts per SQ foot tip! I have a few guides on the Forum check them out :

Par vs Lumens

Advertised vs Actual Wattage

Fans :

Air flow is very important when it comes to growing indoor Cannabis. Stale air = mold = bad... so lets not do that.

Exhaust - VIVOSUN 4" 203 CFM Inline

IF IN BUDGET : AC Infinity 4 - 6"

If you are worried about smell a Carbon filter is a must! Anything with Virgin Australian activated charcoal are going to work.

Air intake Fan - VIVOSUN 4" 203 CFM Inline (Optional)

Most grow tents come with Passive air intake screens, but I always recommend getting a air intake fan because when it comes to flowering your crop you need to maintain total darkness during Lights off. As you can see I linked the same inline fan as the Exhaust and this is for one reason only... Variable Speed controller, this way we can dial in our Air movement.

Interior Fans - Different Types work

Oscillating Pole mounted Fans are the best if you can find them! The main goal here is to keep air movement on the plants to strengthen the stalk. I use a Tower fan and

Other:

These Items are still very important!

Dehumidifier (Full Room Works too) / Humidifier - It is important to be able to change your humidity levels while you are growing.

  • Germination / Seedling - High Humidity 60-65%+ is optimal
  • Vegetation stage - 50-60%
  • Flowering stage - 40-45% (To high causes mold!)

InkBird Humidity controller ** KEY If you want a Stable environment.

Water pH / TDS Meters - pH level in watering is one of the leading causes of plant deficiencies.

Jewelers Loupe - I know what you are thinking.. wtf? Well how else you going to know when to Harvest? Or when you have a tiny pest problem, or maybe trying to figure out the plants sex? Yea... they are handy!

Fabric Smart Pots - 5 and 3 Gallon fabric pots are the most common for indoor growers. In a tent the size I recommend if growing only 2-3 Plants use 5 Gallon pots and if you are planing to grow more lower the size of pot to 3 Gallon so you don't over grow your space.

Rope Hangers - Most lights and equipment come with stationary hangers that just doesn't give you enough vertical movement. These Rope Hangers are perfect for hanging Lights, and other equipment.

4" Duct / 6" Duct - You will need which ever size your inline fans are to finalize your environment controls.

Environmental Controls - Anything that will show you an accurate Humidity / Temperature measurement. Check out these; AcuRite Pro Accuracy Monitor | ThermoPro TP53 both have built in magnets.

Timers / Cords - Any smart timer will work this way you can control your setup via cellphone! I would look into getting a new 8 + socket power bar so you wont have to worry about running out.

Scale / Syringe - Powdered Nutrients like Mega Crop require you to weight out before mixing others you'd use small Syringes to get accurate mixtures.

Nutrients :

Now that you have everything you need to build your indoor grow setup, Here is a list of nutrients I recommend to keep those plants healthy.

Growing Medium :

Pro-Mix HP is a good high porosity soilless medium that is hard to over water and mycorrhizae added from factory so perfect for a first time grower!

Please note this is a setup based around growing for personal consumption.

Does the density of the planting depend on the variety? As far as I understand the bigger the plant the more pot it needs. And as for the distance between the differences, what it should be if the plants of different varieties. Because I'm new to this business, ordered on  https://en.konoplisemena.com several types of seeds, and want to grow a clean product so that their pollen is not mixed.

Every plant grows differently, I always recommend getting quality Genetics to start (Dutch-Passion, Dinafem, and Humboldt Seed Company are good). If you are growing Feminized seeds you won't have a pollen issue. You do not grow Female / Male cannabis plants within the same garden.
