What is Parts per Million? (PPM)

Water is if not the most important part of life, During each stage of a Cannabis plant you will need to control and manage your waters parts per million (PPM). Now I know what you are asking yourself what the hell is PPM?

Parts per Million or PPM is a way of measuring the amount of minerals present in the water. To obtain this measurement you'd us a TDS meter. Cannabis growers know that during each stage of a Cannabis plants life they will absorb different levels of PPM per day. We use TDS meters to make sure our feeding mixture is within the guidelines. By always ensuring your PPM is within the guidelines you will be able to keep a better eye on nutrient levels and overall plant health. Follow this rough guideline during your growing process; Cannabis clones and seedlings like 100-250 PPM, Early Vegetation 300-400PPM, Late Vegetation 450-700, Early Flower 750-950 PPM and then final Flowering stage 1000-1400 PPM. 

The average Tap water here in America is between 50-300 PPM, anything over that you will start having problems when adding your nutrients. If you do have higher PPM Tap water you will need to correct this before with Filters, Reverse osmosis, or distillation (I'd suggest just use bottled water).
