Hello there, I am new here. Just joined and really love the idea behind the site/forum!. I just started my first grow (after years of wanting to grow, yay legalization!), I decided to go with an Auto flower Jack Herer. I am growing in a DWC bucket (have heard it called aerated krakty method as well).

I am currently into week 4 of the grow and it's looking great so far. I am using LST to train it. I have 2 more that just germinated, I will make sure to post pics of them as they grow up!.  I have attached some pics of this grow so far. Happy growing to all!

Edit: List of Equipment used

BestVA 1000w LED - I do not recommend this light, after one grow it has developed a short in the off on switch. Also I'm not a fan of the purple...

Ohuhu tent - Amazon - Decent tent, not the heaviest of materials but they have held up to my abuse so far!

ThermoPro Temp monitor - Amazon - It works!

Air stone/Air line - Local pet store

Modified Canadian tire bucket - Canadian Tire ?  (Showing the Colours (Not recommended))

Remo brand nutrients - Local grow store - They were cheap and worked for the budget grow. I have a couple more line ups to try before I feel comfortable judging how they did overall.

GH Armour SI Silica - Amazon - Silica is important in Hydroponics!

Sensi CalMag Xtra - Amazon - Added as needed

Seeds are from Crop King Seeds

I realize that this should have really been posted in the show off section as I meant it as more of a grow journal, but rolling with it now lol. Here are a couple pics from today, it's day 29 of the grow.

It's been a hell of a learning experience!!. Lot's of things I am learning that I will do differently the next time around. For example my DWC bucket is a bit to tall for the tent that I got, while I should be okay for this grow it will get close. So next time around I would get a shorter, wider bucket to work out of or a slightly taller tent.

Also TDS/PPM meter is important, while my plan of doing change outs once a week has allowed me to avoid issues so far. It would feel a hell of a lot better to know exactly where I am at.

Just seeing the daily progress of the plant and it's various characteristics has been a learning experience in of itself. Looking forward to the next month as the flowers and buds really start popping!!!

As a fellow beginner, I'm encouraged by your progress!

As you mention, there are things that you'll do differently next time around, which I expect will be my experience too.

I look forward to seeing your progress.  ?

Thank you! You are in the right place to learn. I wish I had found this group when I first started into this project, but I am happy to have found it now and since finding the group I have felt 100% more comfortable with what I am doing.

Everyone is friendly, helpful and give solid advice and information that you can rely on. Can't wait to see updates on your grows, good luck and happy growing!!!

Started into week 4 of flowering, in all honesty it's more like week 3.5 of flower. Since it was mid week 4 of veg when it was flipped into bloom nutrients. Not overly concerned, as it will be the trichomes that tell me when to harvest.

Every day I have been 2nd guessing myself, up until a few days ago the pistils hadn't become real "showy" yet. I could see them but not many, and I was getting worried. Then over the course of a day or 2 they really came out and now I see them everywhere, was a pretty awesome sight and feeling ? .

5 gal bucket is getting awkward to lift out of the tent and check/change the nutrients. Future grows I will be using reservoirs that can be drained without having to move them... ?  ..

For now, I pulled back the main so it's off center from the light. I looked at super cropping but I'm mid flower now and feel like I'm going to damage it more then help. My last ditch emergency plan, is go pick up some Mylar and move it into my closet that has the tomatoes in it. I'd be moving the tomatoes out of there and either cutting them down or put them in the tent for now. Not really what I want to do, but it's a decent backup plan if I am forced to.

Does your tent have a base under the water tray?

Wondering if you could raise the tent...

Always nice to have a back up plan, Mylar in a closet is pretty much a tent!

So I did some super cropping. 3 of the tops I bent down, 1 has a small split on the side so I used a bit of tape to fix it up. I will take more pics tomorrow when I have it out for it's daily top up!.

Edit: Also cleaned a lot of the lower leaves and a few of the small lower branches off.

Thanks, there were more then a few choice words said when the one split a little. But pretty happy with the outcome, also feel a lot more confident for next time. I know now I'll control the path of growth more in future grows. I haven't been able to get a good pic of the split, and really don't want to mess with it to much right now.

That's 2 of them, they have healed and are actually getting close to standing back up. The third I can't get a good pic of right now. I will get pics tomorrow when I have it out for it's daily inspection!
