So today I tasked myself with a project. I trying to save money like we all are I'm sure! So I decided to make my own carbon filter hack. I'm not worried about any odor coming from the tent itself. But my dryer vent that I plan on using for my exhaust. Well blows within 6' of my neighbor's windows.

Materials

2 - 4" connector unions

1 - 6" connector union

1 - 18.9 l plastic pail with lid

Screen

Cotton Batting

Hardwood Lump Charcoal

duct tape

Took the pail and cut to 4" holes across from each other. This is for my dryer. I'm tapping into it for my exhaust. Attached the 4" connector union. Silicone the inside. I used duct tape on the outside.

Cut my 6" hole at the bottom and attached the 6" connector union. Silicone the inside and outside.

I add the screen I had to cover the 6" hole from charcoal falling thru.

Cotton Batting on top of that to help filter out charcoal dust. I put a few layers on.Very breathable so the 6" exhaust should blow thru fine.

Added around 5" of Hardwood Lump Charcoal. tried to break it into 1" sized pieces.

That what it looks like from the 6" perspective

Up and installed. 6" exhaust (from the tent) on the bottom isn't on yet. I was running a test at the time of the pics. I ran the dryer and checked that there was no blowing into the 6" hole at the bottom. Enough resistance was created to make it easier to continue its journey outside.
